Walk 47 – Colwick Country Park

Walk 47 took place around Colwick Country Park on a hot sunny day. Plenty of wooded areas and loads of different lakes, ponds and then the boating lake. There is also an activity centre there where you can climb and go canoeing.

Walk 46 – Cromford Canal

Walk 46 took me from Whatstandwell Train station and along the footpath alongside the Cromford Canal.

It was an evening walk with the sun getting low so made for some very interesting photos and scenes. Can’t believe I’d never been here with it only being a few short miles away.

Walk 45 – Brierley Forest Park

Walk 45 took me to Brierly Forest park at Huthwaite. The park has loads of different paths you can take leading to various places, it also has a large lake with plenty of birds on. Well worth a visit.

On a plus point as well the cafe is very cheap 🙂

Walk 44 – Blackwell Trail Part 2

Walk 44 took me onto the second part of the Blackwell Trail, this part was undergoing major improvements with a water feature and loads of trees being planted, this is one to revisit towards the end of the 1,000 walks to see how it has progressed with a few years growth and the works completed, definitely some money being spent on this area to make it into a great walk for now and future generations.

It was good to see such work being carried out and not being cleared for building on, well done to who ever is responsible 🙂

Walk 43 – Elsecar Heritage Centre

Walk 43 took me to Elsecar Heritage Centre, it chucked it down with rain all day so it was handy to be able to keep popping into the buildings to dry off a tiny bit.
