Walk 64 – Alfreton & Oakerthorpe

Walk 64 took me through Alfreton Park and then on to the Golf course in Alfreton which has just celebrated its 125th year. This led me onto the Oakerthorpe Woods plus return then the walk back to Somercotes.

Walk 61 – Sutton Scarsdale Hall & Bolsover Castle

Walk 61 started at Sutton Scarsdale Hall which is owned by The English Heritage and under going renovation to make out save. It is currently fenced off as you can hear parts of it falling away whilst walking around it. The Hall itself is set in a great setting.

The walk then went onto Bolsover Castle which is rather large. You could easily spend a whole day there and still be finding other rooms or parts of it you haven’t seen. A great day out just in itself. This again is Owned by the English Heritage so if visiting quite a few of their places it is well worth signing up online, it will save you a fortune.

Walk 59 – Sherwood Forest

Walk 59 took me to Sherwood Forest. The walk Starts off at the Visitor Centre and then you can choose which walk you’d like to complete. I took the walk to the Major Oak first and then carried onto walk round the rest of the forest. Loads of little carvings and unusual trees on the walk so well worth a visit.
