Hi, I'm Mark Anthony I've spent nearly 17 years as a Cabbie, sometimes spending upto 16+ hours plus per day behind the wheel.
As you can imagine this hasn't been good for my health as in the last few years I turned to eating Fast Food for quickness. This has lead to me developing Diabetes, an Endocrine Disorder and Hypothyroidism and other ailments from eating Fast Food and lack of exercise.
I figured I had 2 options, either sit and do nothing or do something to help myself.
- I decided that I would take up walking as a gentle form of exercise.
- Healthy eating
- Doing something I enjoy (I love taking photos so this tied in well with the walking)
- Cut my working hours down.
- Also find a way to help encourage others to become healthier.
Secondly I also decided that I would complete a Challenge, this will be to complete 1,000 walks within 5 years. This works out at an average of 200 walks per year for the next 5 years.
The walks will consist of at least 10,000 steps or over which in my case works out at around 5 miles per walk or more.
